POISE is an online publication for today’s emerging professional women seeking to advance their careers and create balanced lifestyles.Lauren Williams and AiLun Ku founded POISE in 2004. They are both graduates of New York University.
The idea of POISE came to fruition when Lauren and AiLun were preparing to leave the academic world to embark on full-time careers. Suddenly they were faced with intense interviews, career choices, and planning for the future. They realized that many women around them were in the same shoes — confronted with a flood of new decisions and opportunities, with no specific place to go for guidance. Thus, they were inspired to create a place for women to come and ask their burning questions about forging successful careers and managing the evolving details of their personal lives. In other words, one place to help them maintain a balance between work and life.
POISE interacts with its readers through its Members’ Message Board and blogs. We continue to grow with our readers, so come and share your experiences. Take control of your career, your lifestyle.
