What to Wear?
Glamour magazine recently interviewed a high-powered executive on how to nail an interview. One of the interesting points on his list was the importance of “dressing the part”. He said you want your potential boss to visualize you in the position. I’ve been contemplating this concept more and more as I approach some critical interviews.Dressing the part in Corporate America is pretty straight forward; you can’t go wrong with a crisp button down and a black suit. But how do you dress to impress for an interview at a non-profit, academic setting, or fashion company? Should you always pull out the trusty suit or what are some other viable options?
