Rolling Stone Celebrates 1000th Issue
This morning I woke up with a bright red wrist band on my arm. It was a welcome reminder of last night’s festivities … my friend and I were among the guests who poured into Hammerstein Ballroom to celebrate Rolling Stone’s 1000th issue. It was a full out concert - The Strokes took us on a walk to the wild side with surprise guest, Lou Reed.Between performances famous covers were projected above the stage. This was inspiration to take advantage of the photo station and make a Rolling Stone cover of your own. I tried to do Madonna’s 1991 cover, but it didn’t quite work out … Luckily my picture with Jimmy Fallon worked out perfectly!
I realized that I had hoarded my stack of 1000th issue “souvenir” coasters in vain when we got our good bag at the end (oops). Even if you are not typically a Rolling Stone fan, you’ve got to check out this psychedelic cover! It is seriously one of a kind!
