Cold Calling is NOT Dead!
Contrary to popular belief, cold calling is alive and well. And unfortunately it is a crucial part of my new job - which is particularly bad news because I’m terrible at it! One of my bosses told me the key to success is to not sound “sales-y”. Hmmm. I wish someone could actually tell me how to do that! Every time I actually get a voice on the other end of my call I panic; I start claming up and the sales pitch that follows sounds like a blood thirsty ambush.I’m seriously looking into taking a seminar or something, because it looks like this really is only the beginning. If anyone knows any good books that might ease my awkwardness, please share! Anyhow, here back to the yellow book …
